Opti-Blend MLIW Continuous Gravimetric Dosing (Flood Fed)

Gravimetric Blenders

The TSM Opti-Blend provides a Loss in Weight based "dosing" solution to gravimetric blending and extrusion control for up to 7 components. The primary component is gravity fed directly to the extruder throat and the secondary (side fed materials) maintain recipe ratio via auger feeds.

TSM’s Opti-Blend range of dosing solutions ensure material homogeneity and consistent product quality. They provide continuous gravimetric and throughput control of up to 7 components. The unit is controlled via the latest generation of controller with full machine direction control of the extrusion process.

Opti-Mix Gravimetric Batch Blender

The ever-increasing costs for polymers and additives mean it has never been more important to ensure materials are dosed accurately and are homogenously mixed. The TSM gravimetric batch blender solves this problem due to its unique patented mixing system and slide gate technology.

Introduction to the Opti-Mix

The Opti-mix gravimetric batch blender range can house as many as 12 material components and handle a throughput range up to 5,000 kg/hr.

The materials are mixed uniformly irrespective of bulk density, and this, combined with the cramming action it creates at the throat, greatly assists in the processing of difficult regrind materials, often allowing higher regrind percentages to be used and greater throughputs to be achieved.

Other features include a 7-inch high resolution, touch screen operation with prompts, incident log of all blender entries and changes, and one-touch weight calibration and auto test for full systems.

TSM’s Opti-X Gravimetric Batch Blender Loss-in-Weight technology, has been designed exclusively for extrusion control. All the fundamental capabilities are enhanced in this new range and packaged in a sleek, robust, user-friendly design. But most importantly, essential business metrics relating to material usage, energy usage, downtime analysis and OEE (Operational Equipment Efficiency) are available across single or multiple lines and factories.

Introduction to Opti-X

OPTI-X range of Extrusion Control applications represent TSM’s next generation blending technology, providing superior accuracies, blend ratios and mixing homogeneity not achievable  by competitive systems. OPTI-X blenders utilize TSM slide valve design and patented reverse flight auger mixing technology combined with continuous Loss-in-Weight measurement.

TSM’s extrusion control blenders combine in a unique way, accurate gravimetric batch blending with integrated extrusion control using Loss-in-Weight techniques. This results in exceptional, ultra fast through-put measurement and control of the extrusion process. OPTI-X range can accommodate up to twelve components at throughputs up to 1300kg (2900 lbs) / hour).
